How To Play

First time? Here’s the one, two, three on how to play.

Video lottery terminals (VLTs) are similar to casino slot machines. Each terminal is loaded with a variety of games which come in three basic varieties:

  • Spinning reel: line up matching symbols (fruit, objects, letters, etc.) across the screen to win. Place a larger bet to win when symbols connect in diagonal or zigzag patterns (called pay lines). Many games offer bonus rounds which can multiply your winnings from the same bet.
  • Poker: If you enjoy playing poker with friends or at the casino, these games are for you! Special features include wild cards, beat the house double up and more depending on the version you play.
  • Keno: With keno you select from two to 10 numbers on an 80 number board. If your numbers are among 20 numbers randomly drawn, you win! Your prize is determined by your bet and the number of your selections that are actually drawn. Bonus features are available.

Machines accept cash or tickets.
To play a VLT simply insert a Canadian bill (denominations up to $100) or VLT ticket printed from the location where you are playing. Some machines also accept coins.

Winnings and cash-outs are handled by VLT staff.
When you cash out after playing, your VLT will print a ticket that you can redeem through the staff at your VLT location. Tickets may be redeemed for up to 180 days at the location they were printed.
